RF Shielded Enclosures-Made for You! RF Shielded Enclosures are used for testing electronic devices, mainly for EMC Compliance testing. EMC testing requires a low-ambient RF environment. Portable RF Shielded Enclosures provide this unique environment using the Faraday Principle. The Faraday Principle states that the fields within a conductive material cancel out any external fields, making the electric field inside the conductive material enclosure zero. The walls of a soft sided RF Shielded consist of conductive fabric, satisfying the requirements of a Faraday Cage. EMC testing allows devices within the enclosure to have their emissions monitored and measured, determining whether emissions are within acceptable standards.

Electronic Devices come in many different sizes and so do RF Shielded Enclosures, we have some that are just the size of a pouch, while others are large by any standard. One enclosure will not provide the proper testing conditions for every type of testing. The Shielding Effectiveness of the enclosure is dependent on the properties of the conductive fabrics that make up the enclosure. Many enclosures require special input and output lines to monitor the performance of the device during testing. Filtered power enters the enclosure via cable sleeves from Power Filter Boxes. Lighting is another popular option, whether it is for worker safety or vision.
